The short version
Oh Yeti! has no accounts and we never ask for your name, email or location. Your progress stays on your phone. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which uses some device data to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, it does so only after you agree. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Who we are
Oh Yeti! is made by Mateusz Pałyz, an independent developer in Poland, who is the data controller for the game. Contact: hello@ohyeti.app.
What stays on your phone
The game saves the following on your device only. We never receive any of it:
- your best distance, run count, settings (music, sound, vibration) and unlocked achievements;
- whether you own Remove Ads, as a local copy of what the store tells the game;
- a small log of gameplay events (for example "run ended at 1,240 m"). It is anonymous, used only to balance the game during development, and does not leave the device.
Deleting the game deletes all of this.
Purchases
Remove Ads is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment happens entirely with them: the game only learns whether your store account owns Remove Ads, so it can turn ads off and restore the purchase after a reinstall. We never see your payment details. See Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad now and then between runs, and an optional video if you choose "Watch Ad & Revive". To show, limit and measure ads, AdMob may process:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, Advertising ID on Android), if available;
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language);
- which ads were shown and whether you tapped them.
Your choices:
- In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland the game asks for your consent (via Google's consent message) before ads use your data for personalisation. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalised.
- On iPhone, the game asks for permission before AdMob may use the advertising identifier for tracking (Apple's App Tracking Transparency). You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings.
- You can review your ad choices again from the game's menu.
- Buying Remove Ads turns off all ads.
Google processes this data under its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Game Center and Google Play Games
If you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android), the game sends your achievements and best distance there, so they appear in your profile and leaderboards. This is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. You can sign out in your device settings or the Play Games app.
Sharing your score
"Share My Score!" creates a picture of your run on your phone and opens your device's share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you pick where to send it.
Children
Oh Yeti! is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
We do not hold personal data about you on our side, so there is nothing for us to export or delete. Under the GDPR you still have the right to ask us anything about how the game handles data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For data processed by Google for advertising, you can use Google's My Ad Center.
Changes
If the game starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date below.
